3rd Street Youth Center & Clinic is a community-based agency providing youth in the Bayview Hunters Point with medical and behavioral health services that encourage them to make decisions that support their health, safety and development.

In an exciting new venture, 3rd Street has partnered with San Francisco State University (SFSU) to provide housing assistance and housing related case management for twenty eligible SFSU students each academic year. This is a new position, and the person hired to step into this role will have the opportunity to help us scale and shape a unique collaboration.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Individual case management & oversight for twenty students referred from SFSU Student Housing Coordinator
  • Housing Search Coordination: Facilitate all stages of the housing search process including locating available housing opportunities and support with unit viewings, lease signings, and move-ins.
  • Design individual case management & transitions plan with youth including income stability.
  • Liaison between 3rd Street Youth Center & Clinic and SFSU Housing Team
  • Resource brokerage and referral as needed
  • Case coordination and advocacy within agency and with other CBO's
  • Attend community, city, & regional housing meetings
  • Data collection and case notes entered into all appropriate databases.
  • Support for staff & youth in 3rd Street programming as needed

Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficient in Google Suite
  • Ability to multi-task and efficiently manage priority action items
  • Spanish speaking candidates are encouraged to apply

Education & Experience requirements:

  • Bachelors in related field OR equivalent work
  • 2-3 years of experience working with high-risk youth and/or students dealing with housing insecurity or homelessness
  • Working knowledge of issues facing college students
  • Bilingual Spanish a plus.
  • Must be a self-starter with excellent follow-through skills.
  • Valid California Driver's License and clean driving record required. Must also have daily access to a car.
  • Must also have the ability to work with diverse staff, clients, and volunteers.

General info:

  • This position is a salaried, exempt, and full-time role.
  • This position's worksite is located at SFSU.
  • This position reports to the Assistant Director of Housing.

Compensation and benefits:

  • This position has an annual salary of $64,480.
